Sunrise on Moloka'i

I took this photo just as the sun got high enough over the mountain to light Moloka'i but leave the ocean in still in the shadows. It had rained about an hour earlier and the sky had started to clear over us and Moloka'i.

  2. Leaving the ocean in shadows really works for this picture, gives it much more contrast between the ocean and Moloka'i.

I'd really like to spend some time exploring Moloka'i and the Big Island too for that matter. Sounds to me that out of all the Islands these two are the most Hawaiian and least touched by tourism (excluding the Kona Coast of course).

    1. Are you back in Hawaii? I love the layers to this picture. And the colors are amazing!

    2. Aloha Sandy! I wish we were back in Hawaii but I will have to wait awhile. We did just get back from Hawaii about two weeks ago after being there for two weeks.

    3. A good time of morning after a rain. Like the foreground and especially the clouds hanging over the distant Island!

    5. Ron and Paul, I really hope that you and your family can experience Molokai in the near future. With your photography styles I know that you would LOVE it!! Paul, you are also correct in stating that Molokai is probably the most "old style" Hawaii.
Ron, thanks for the wonderful shot of "home". :)

    6. My pleasure Val. One of these days I plan on making it to all of the islands. So far Maui and Oahu are the only two I have been to so far. I may have to start going twice a year just to see everything!
