Ribbit

I'm still going through my Hawaii photos and finding things I forgot I took pictures of. Cheryl and I both photographed this frog, her with my point and shoot, since she didn't want to carry her camera around, and me with the Nikon D300.

I would never say my photo is better than Cheryl's (for a couple of reasons LOL) but I like the way this came out. I used the flash to add a little fill light when I took the photo.

    1. Is this a test Tex? LOL

The plant is called Pistia stratiotes or more commonly, water lettuce, but you don't want to eat it. The plant contains "needle-like calcium oxalate crystals that can cause intense mouth burning and swelling" not to mention a really bad stomach ache.

The good news is these plants absorb toxic metals from the water.

They aren't an indeginous plant to Hawaii, they were introduced from South America.

      Are you impressed? LOL

Next thing I know we will be identifying all plant life using Latin terms! LOL Afraid the days of red, yellow, and blue flowers are numbered!

  2. LOL! A couple reasons is all you can think of?
Agree. The flash did a nice job highlighting the foreground and the froggies face. Like the big eyes and smirky grin!

    1. A tour guide on Maui, I could live with that!

You know the old saying; "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance then baffle them with bullshit" and I'm pretty good at both on occasion.
