Say Hello to my little friend

These first two were shot with the Tamron 18-250mm. They aren't the best of shots but he wanted to stay in the trees and not come out and pose for me.

These last two were taken with the Sigma 150-500mm. He moved into a different area with fewer trees and I was able to zoom past most of the others.

  1. Way to go Ron! You were lucky he gave you time to make a lens change. Was he in the area around the lily pads?

The Sigma 500mm did a nice job as I guess this is a handheld shot.

I've got to get some Elk shots in my files!!!!

  2. He was on the west end of Quanah Parker Lake on the north side near the bridge that takes you to Little Baldy.

For some reason he didn't seem to be in a big hurry. I paralleled him as he walked along the lake shore for about 150-200 feet taking shots as I went. I think I took about 100-130 shots.

  3. Wow you got some great shots! Nice to see some pictures using the Sigma long lens.

There are several herds of Elk around here but so far I haven't had the opportunity to take any pics.

  4. Another awesome wildlife photos by Ron. I can't wait to see some of yours winter photos with these elks standing on the snow.
