Took this picture at f16 to get as much in focus as possible. I'm not sure but I think that the flowers are called Indian Paint Brush.
As far as I can tell this is a type of epiphyte, aerophyte or air plant I found growing on a huckleberry bush. In fact there were a number of these growing in the forest in this area. I have never seen an air plant except in Hawaii so this is quite the little discovery for me!By the way both of these pictures were taken with a tripod. Yes it actually comes out from behind the seat of my pickup now and then... LOL

ReplyDeleteWell Professor you had me going to the reference books on your second pic. Upon first looking at this strange plant I figured it was a parasite, but after research was surprised to find out that was not the case at all. Thanks for sharing a discovery and a Botany lesson also.
I really like the top shot with the water and the colors. Very nice.
