Fireworks 07/03/11

I took these pictures from last night just a few minutes walk from my house. The first picture are the location that I shot entire displays, and I used the pond for the reflections.

I have followed the same directions from the link that I posted yesterday. However, I need to work more on the shutter timing. Also, there's something wrong with my memory card that I was using, it takes too long to write the files into the card. Therefore, I miss a lot of the shots, hopefully I could give another shot tonight.

Happy 4th of July everyone.

  1. Text book perfect shots Q. Only thing missing is the "B O O M S ! ! " Your pre-scouting of shooting location really paid off. The reflection from the water gives a bigger "BANG" for the money.LOL

    Happy Fourth to all!

  2. Very nice! I like the way you used the water. I don't think I would have ever intentionally thought to do that.

Cheryl and I were going to go out on Saturday for big display here but I decided I was just too tired. We're headed out tonight to try some shots though so hopefully everything will work right!

Like Parker said, sometimes luck is the best thing on your side! LOL

  4. Like a skilled craftsman, you have captured the fireworks perfectly! Your use of the water in your foreground is the icing on the cake!

I seem to recall reading about "Long exposure noise reduction" taking quite a bit of time to process if it is turned on... Could this have anything to do with long write times to your memory card?

  5. Paul,
You are correct! I always have it off, but somehow it's on. Also, I didn't know this could effect on the writing speed. Thanks.
