Portley Eagle

Found this rather well fed looking bird up at Quatse Lake the other day while doing my rounds. I suspect that he'd had a good feed on some of the Sockeye Salmon that come up through the Lake on their way to their spawning grounds.
Took this with the Sigma 120-400 at 400mm handheld, manual focus. (Still haven't returned the silly thing for warranty repairs to its focus motor).

  1. Very nice! As fat as this guy looks you probably could have gotten close enough to use the wide angle lens because he probably couldn't fly! LOL

I just love your eagle shots. I really need to get a passport so I can come up there sometime and visit.

  2. Come visit any time Ron! This goes for Parker and Q too. I'd be more than happy to show you guys (and your families) my part of the world.

  3. That would be a real adventure to be able to visit your Island! Especially when the Eagles are present.

    400mm-Hand Held-Manually Focused-Shot of Opportunity! Nicely Done!
