No rain on this plain!

Currently there are 600ish forest fires burning in the Provence of British Columbia, this happens every summer though this summer is a little worse than normal. For the last several days the smoke from the fires several hundred miles away on the mainland has been blanketing Northern Vancouver Island, this almost never happens but it sure has made for some great sunsets!

Both of these shots were taken at Quatse Lake using my Nikon 18-135 lens. I'm afraid that I broke the "Thow shall not aim at the sun" rule, but I've always been a bit of a rebbel besides what are rules for anyway except to be broken! LOL

  1. I like the color on these photos, and the refections. The rule could be broken in photography as long the result is good. Good work.

  2. Rules? We don't need no stinking rules! LOL

Great reflections on both of these but I really like the bottom one.

  3. Those pics have some intense color. In that first pic one can almost smell the smoke!

The two reflections of the sun in the water is kind of unusual. I like it!
